We Renew Our Alliance with AIDER and Nii Biri: A Continued Commitment to Sustainability and Indigenous Communities

There are stories that deserve to be told, and this is one of them—a story woven with tradition, culture, and ancestral knowledge. Since 2018, at Agustina we have walked alongside AIDER (Association for Research and Integral Development) to weave a future where craftsmanship, sustainability, and Indigenous communities are at the heart of our purpose. In 2025, we take this commitment a step further by renewing our alliance and welcoming Nii Biri, reaffirming our dedication to improving the quality of life of women who live in and depend on the forest.

Our Story with AIDER: A Path Toward Sustainability

AIDER is a Peruvian organization with more than 38 years of experience in the conservation and sustainable development of Amazonian forests. Our collaboration with AIDER has been fundamental in revaluing the ancestral knowledge of Indigenous peoples in Ucayali.

One of the most meaningful outcomes of this partnership has been our participation in the Alianza Forestal (Forest Alliance), an initiative that protects Amazonian forests while improving the quality of life of Indigenous communities. Through the sustainable management of communal forests and the promotion of inclusive and sustainable businesses, this alliance has generated real opportunities for Shipibo-Konibo and Kakataibo communities in Ucayali, encouraging responsible use of natural resources and income generation based on productive conservation.

Nii Biri: Integrating Amazonian Identity into Our Creations

With the incorporation of Nii Biri into our alliance, we take another step toward forest regeneration and the empowerment of its guardians. Nii Biri is an Indigenous enterprise representing 10 Shipibo-Konibo and Kakataibo communities. Its name carries a powerful message: “Wonders of the Forest.”

It is a reminder that every piece we create is more than craftsmanship—it is the living essence of the Amazon, a deep connection with the land, and a story that deserves to be shared.

Yet this alliance is not merely a commitment between organizations. It is also a call to those who believe in a more just world, in the transformative power of artisan hands, and in the unwavering strength of Indigenous women.

Achievements and Perspectives: Toward Regeneration

Throughout our collaboration with AIDER, we have helped promote fair trade and strengthen the development of bio-businesses focused on Indigenous craftsmanship. Renewing this alliance and incorporating Nii Biri allows us to expand the impact of our initiatives and move forward toward a more conscious and regenerative approach to fashion.

At Agustina, we believe fashion can be a vehicle for positive change. We remain committed to working alongside AIDER and Nii Biri to create products that respect the environment, honor ancestral traditions, and contribute to the wellbeing of Indigenous communities.

Conclusion: Weaving a Sustainable Future Together

The renewal of our alliance with AIDER and the incorporation of Nii Biri mark a new chapter in our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. More than a collaboration, it is a commitment to a future where every creation not only beautifies but also honors tradition, strengthens resilience, and respects Mother Earth.

We invite our community and clients to be part of this journey—to choose products with history, meaning, and purpose.

Together, we will continue weaving a future where fashion and sustainability walk hand in hand, honoring our roots and building a more just and balanced world for the generations to come.
