AN INMERSIVE EXPERIENCE - FULL DAY
“Threads have become intangible in the Andes; they embroider love, dreams, and traditions.”
We invite you to experience this tradition alongside traditional Cusco embroiderers who have kept the art of Makinasq’a embroidery alive and who today find an important source of livelihood through their craft.
Through an encounter with the family, we will learn about their story, their technique, and the knowledge that continues to live on through embroidery, while also sharing a glimpse into their daily life and their territory.
HUAYLLUTA
The Makinasqa Embroidery Journey
Location: Canas / Cusco
Altitude: 4,000 m.a.s.l.
A PRIVATE ENCOUNTER WITH
THE LIVING EMBROIDERY OF THE ANDES
At more than 4,000 metres
above sea level, in the remote highlands of Canas, we are welcomed into the
home of Genaro and Yoni, masters of Makinasq’a embroidery.
The encounter continues
around the family table, where we share a home-cooked lunch, glimpse their
everyday life and have the opportunity to create a small embroidered piece of
our own.
An intimate journey
where landscape, family and ancestral knowledge become the experience itself.
