ESTHER YAURIVILCA
Born in Lima to a Huancaína family, Esther Yaurivilca is a renowned Peruvian visual and plastic artist, and a graduate of the Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú. Her artistic work is distinguished by a constant exploration of the bond between women and nature, intertwined with memory and cultural heritage.
Through a refined and rigorous pictorial technique, Yaurivilca has developed a personal language that combines sensitivity, discipline, and a profound connection to ancestral traditions. Her work seeks to revalue symbols, narratives, and worldviews rooted in Andean culture, while projecting them into a contemporary context that invites reflection on identity and the role of women in today’s society.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Peru and abroad, where her work has been recognized for its poetic and emotional strength, conveyed through color, form, and composition. At the same time, she has carried out significant teaching work in drawing and painting at art centers, guiding and nurturing new generations of artists.
Beyond her plastic production, Esther Yaurivilca understands art as a bridge between tradition and modernity, between the intimate and the collective, establishing herself as a relevant voice within the contemporary Peruvian art scene.
